Finally! Those of us who enjoy thrilling action movies are excited that the sequel to “Top Gun” is being released. “Top Gun: Maverick” is opening to positive reviews, many saying it’s better than the original. Whereas sequels are pretty common after a blockbuster hit (e.g. Star Wars), we are also seeing more prequels coming out. A prequel usually precedes and attempts to explain the original movie ( e.g. Star Wars).
Over the last few Sundays, we have been looking at the sequels to Easter with post-resurrection stories. However, this Sunday we will watch a prequel (of sorts) to the greatest blockbuster in human history. In John 13 Jesus delivers his farewell address including a new commandment that best explains the Easter message. Yet, so May Christians miss this important message consequently they miss out on the purest source of joy and happiness in their lives. What is it? Read John 13 31-35, and then,
