Last week we went through Hell, figuratively of course. I shared that I believe scriptures proclaim that even the darkness and hopelessness of hell is not beyond God’s reach as Jesus journeyed into death itself to deliver the imprisoned spirits (1 Peter3-4).
This Sunday I am excited and overjoyed to reverse direction as our journey takes us to our ultimate destination – heaven. Just as we see glimpses of hell in our earthly lives we also have glimpses of heaven.
We have a choice. If we focus on the negative forces of hell we may never see heaven. However, if accept Jesus’s invitation to His (as our) Father’s house we begin to experience the joys of heaven even in our present existence.
If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. C.S. Lewis
But what happens when we die?
