Summer Series: A Church without Walls

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Hopefully as you read this, Mary Alice and I are resting on a sunbaked beach (or chasing kids all over one). Resting is both a gift and commandment as the God who created us knows our needs. Resting is not necessarily idleness, as people often perceive it. But an ultimate demonstration of our trust in God.

Unfortunately, many turn away from God when they are exhausted. They associate God with duty and diligence and seek to hide from His presence. When we rest in Jesus we are placing our lives in the hands of the One who knows what’s best for us in order to live a fully energized life that stays forcused on the “main thing” of sharing God’s love for the world.

I pray you are enjoying times of Sabbath rest to revitalize your soul and I look forward to being back to work next week.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Also, I am grateful for Dennis, Beth and all who keeps things running smoothly. I especially thank Ralph Orr and Robin Claris for sharing God’s good news.

Pastor Rob
