Ephesians

For the last two weeks my family has enjoyed a time of rest and play. We have explored the Atlantic Beach coastline, built castles to be washed away by incoming tides, looked for buried treasure (mostly broken shells), frolicked in the ocean’s waves, sailed the sound, and relived our own childhood in the laughter and wonder of our children’s children. For me, the sea calls to renew my spirit and faith in the wideness and wonder of God’s endless love. It is also a time to slow down and reflect on the conditions of my own heart in the midst of the swirling changes we all witness in our world today. It is a time to give thanks for God placing us in the midst of the wonderful family of Three Oaks Fellowship. And most importantly, it’s a time to remember who is in charge of it all.

As Paul writes to the Ephesians,

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,” may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Sunday we will back up a little and look at the last half of Ephesians chapter 2 when Paul asks us to remember what God has done in order to experience the peace of Christ. I look forward to gathering with my church family tomorrow …. of course, without all the sand.
