More than we can imagine?
How your imagination? Can you imagine a perfect world? A world guided by absolute peace, tranquility, happiness and joy? A world absents of hunger, war, racism, poverty, abuse or fear of any kind? A perfect world ruled only by love.
Dream on, right?
How about heaven? Perhaps not as hard to imagine is it? That reminds me of Mercy Me’s song, “I Can Only Imagine.” I believe whatever we imagine heaven to be, it will be better. If we fix our eyes of Jesus, he promises us heaven and even throws in abundant life right here on earth. Paul’s writes in 1 Corinthians 2:9, “No one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” All the songs, poems, sermons, books written about heaven don’t even come close.
“Immeasurably more?” Still, that shouldn’t stop us from imaging heaven. And when we dream of it, delight in it, and long for it we finally learn how to live in it here and now.
