A most deadly sin.
So, you have probably heard of the seven deadly sins. Although they are not found together in the scriptures, the early church has grouped them as the acts that most grieve our God. They are pride, wrath, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, or sloth.
But there is one not mentioned that may be the most deadly of them all. It cast Adam and Eve out of Paradise, it led the people of Israel to wander 40 years in the wilderness and then would cause their final defeat and exile. It can even prevent you and me from receiving the full blessing that God desires to give us.
So, what is it? This Sunday I will call it by name.
