Series on “The Call,” continues…(Please read 1 Samuel 1:3-11)
So how do we know that it is God who calls us? Wouldn’t it be nice to have some kind of heavenly caller ID to let us know? And if we knew God was calling would you be willing to accept the charges?
This Sunday we will listen to God’s call on young Samuel. It took several calls for Sam to answer as God had trouble getting his attention. Sam didn’t get a burning bush, like Moses, or swallowed by a fish, like Jonah, but it was a simple call in the night that kept waking him up. Likewise, I wonder if God could be calling in a still, small voice that we often mistake as spam or some other unwanted solicitation.
