Taste and See: Then be Filled

Last week we took one step to being filled with “superabundant joy.” Being poor in spirit is a blessing because it means we know how much we need the Lord. We are the “happiest” when we fully rely on God. This week we introduce beatitudes #2 and #3:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matthew‬ ‭5:4-5‬ ‭

Ok, so what joy can come from grief, much less being meek, as Jesus promises? I can tell you this much now. Both of these attitudes will open us up to the infinite, immeasurable power of God’s love as nothing else can do. I hope to explain it better on Sunday.

Come and see, Pastor Rob
