Is There a Doctor in the House?

“When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we talk about faith healing eyes begin to roll up along with our suspicions. However, when we examine Jesus’ ministry and message, we see He was all about healing. In fact, we see the reason God sent His son was to heal all creation and inaugurate the Kingdom of God. The Greek word, “sozo” is translated as “salvation.” The same word is used 14 times to mean deliverance from disease or demons, 20 times as deliverance from death, and 20 times to refer to spiritual salvation.

Jesus came to save souls. He also came to create the wholeness of mind and body as well as a soul here and now. It makes sense that God’s will for humanity is one that involves healing. Of course, the ultimate healing comes in our death and resurrection, but until then the Holy Spirit continues to offer God’s wholeness each and every day that we all desperately need.

So who are the sick? Whether it is the body, mind, or soul, God heals. I don’t know about faith healing, but I do know the power of healing faith.

Come and see,

Pastor Rob
