We conclude September’s series on “Why Church?” with Jesus’ promise to prepare a place for us.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3 NIV
C.S. Lewis wrote, “It is since Christians have ceased to think of the next world that they become so ineffective in this one”. In other words, if we know heaven is our home we will be more like Jesus here on earth. No, the church is not heaven, nor will it save us, but perhaps to welcome people into our fellowship is to welcome them into the presence of the One who prepares a place for them.
There is a place for you in God’s kingdom and there is a place for you at Three Oaks.
Come and see,
Pastor Rob
